1. Why is it important to know something about the author of a story before you began reading it? What does it help you do? What does it help you understand?
A: It's important to know because it can help you understand what they're writing about and why they are writing about it. I'm not saying all authors do write about their experiences but most of them do. It also hepls you understand what was going on in that point in time.
